After four days of Group Stage Play, the Knockout Stage for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship Play-In has been set. The following best-of-5 matchups will take place across October 7th and 8th:

Hong Kong Attitude vs. Isurus Gaming
Clutch Gaming vs. Royal Youth
DAMWON Gaming vs. Lowkey Esports.Vietnam
Splyce vs. Unicorns of Love

The four teams who win their respective matches will be randomly seeded into the groups of the Main Event of Worlds 2019, excluding groups that already include a team of the Play-In seeds' respective regions. The four losing teams will be eliminated from the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.

Groups Wind Down

Group A and Group B conluded their respective second round robins on the penultimate day of Play-In Groups.

Group B saw the first team eliminated from Worlds in the form of Japan's DetonatioN FocusMe as LEC #3 Seed Splyce convincingly took the group's 1st seed as expected.  Latin America's Isurus Gaming took the 2nd seed in Group B.

Group A featured the same rock-paper-scissors results that characterized day 1 of the Play-In, and following double tie-breaker madness, LCS #3 Seed Clutch Gaming and CIS' Unicorns of Love reached the Knockout Stage as the 1st and 2nd seed. MAMMOTH, the pride of Oceania, came up short in the first tiebreaker and joined DFM on the first trip home.

Group C and Group D concluded on the final day of the Play-In Group Stage. DAMWON Gaming took its expected 1st Seed in D, defeating Brazil's Flamengo eSports and Turkey's Royal Youth in both meetings with each team. Group C continued to be unpredictable, with Southeast Asia's MEGA Esports unable to repeat its day 2 victory against VCS #2 Seed Lowkey Esports after losing earlier in the day to Hong Kong Attitude. After its 3rd loss, MEGA was eliminated from Worlds 2019.

Lowkey Esports, now on a 2-win streak after beating HKA in its first round robin and starting its next with a win against MEGA, was confident in its ability to take Group C's 1st seed after qualifying for the Knockout Stage. However, HKA refused to drop a second time to LKE, and the Vietnamese side would have to settle for seeding below the Taiwanese representative.

Flamengo eSports found the 2nd Seed of Group D within its grasp. Since both Flamengo and Royal Youth had lost 0-2 to DAMWON, and FLE had come away the victor in its first meeting with RYL, Brazil could almost taste the Main Stage qualification at Worlds 2019. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events for the CBLoL, Royal Youth defeated Flamengo to force a tie-breaker.

The teams would once again take the stage just an hour later after Hong Kong Attitude secured the first seed for Group D, and Royal Youth would manage to win the tie-breaker as well. The TCL champion, against all odds, qualified for the Knockout Stage after an 0-3 start in Group C.

The Knockout Stage draw happened shortly after the conclusion of RYL's tiebreaker triumph, with LoL Esports legend Paul "soaZ" Boyer and Head coach of Misfits Gaming Hussain "Moose" Moosvi randomly selecting the teams as has become tradition for international League of Legends seeding. The eight teams in the Knockout Stage will only have a single day in before the upcoming matches that will decide who will complete the Worlds 2019 Main Event Group Stage.
