KT Score: "Some of the players on Gen.G are good friends of mine, so they made sure to provoke me before the match. That got me to focus, and I ended up carrying."

On the 24th, at the Seoul Gangnam Nexon Arena, the 30th day of the '2018 LCK Summer Split' took place. On the second series of the day, KT Rolster defeated Gen.G Esports with a score of 2-0. Throughout the series, KT Rolster played very decisively and made little to no mistakes. With well-calculated macro management, KT closed out the series.

After the match, the two MVP titlists, Score and Deft, were invited for an interview with SPOTV.

How do you feel taking that victory?

Deft: After losing that one match after returning from the Rift Rivals, we’ve won all of our games. Although there are still a lot of strong teams left for us to face, we’ll do our best to win against all of them and aim for the No.1 spot.

Score: There are still a lot more strong teams that we have to face, but I’m still happy because we’ve been winning all of our matches. We’ll do our best to win our remaining games as well.

In game 1, KT Rolster appeared to be very focused on the game. You guys didn’t make any notable mistakes.

Score: Some of the players on Gen.G are good friends of mine, so they made sure to provoke me before the match. That got me to focus, and I ended up carrying.

Thanks for helping me get back to my senses. When we meet again, I'll show you another great performance. I hope to face you again.

Deft, there are rumors that you recently began playing better because you've been getting quality sleep.

Deft:  (Looking at the picture on screen) Sleeping there really helped me with getting rid of my built up exhaustion. I’ve recently been losing a lot of confidence, but for some odd reason, I’m performing great on stage. Can I continue to sleep, coach?

In game 1, the way KT chained their ultimates for a big combo really stood out. It was also really impressive how you guys reengaged a fight after putting your opponents’ important skills on cooldown.

Score: To chain the ultimates was the call at the time. Although I set the thing up, Mata’s shotcall was equally important. I think Mata deserves the credit for that.

After seeing the Varus and Morgana pick from Gen.G, you picked Kai’Sa. However, against Varus and Morgana, Kai’Sa tends to struggle during the laning phase.

Deft: First of all, I simply played what the head coach told me. Although it’s a bit difficult to play against Varus-Morgana during the early laning phase, Kai’Sa is a great pick if you can hold out until the mid-to-late game.

I heard that you’re at the bottom of the hierarchy of power within the KT Rolster teamhouse. Does Ucal really have more power over you?

Deft: I think I'm at the bottom. Score isn’t at the top of the hierarchy, but he's in a spot where no one can mess with him. Smeb thinks that he has the most power within the team, but I don’t think that’s true at all. I think it goes in this order: Score, Mata, Ucal, Smeb, and then me.

Your next opponent is Kingzone DragonX. How will you prepare for that matchup?

Score: Throughout this year, we often struggled when playing against KZ. However, recently, we won against a lot of teams that have defeated us during Round 1. I think we’re fully capable of defeating KZ as well.

Deft: We’ll make sure to win.
