Ubisoft's flagship 'Assassin's Creed' franchise has surpassed 250 million units in cumulative global sales. In an official newsroom post on the 10th (local time), Ubisoft announced the performance of 'Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced,' noting that the series has exceeded 250 million units sold since the release of the first title in 2007. This figure was disclosed in an official press release distributed by Ubisoft subsidiary Vantage Studios.

In the same announcement, Ubisoft shared the successful launch performance of its latest title, 'Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced.' According to the report, the game sold over 2 million units on its first day. On Steam, it reached a peak concurrent player count of 104756 as of the 13rd, setting a new record for the series. The company also noted that the game generated significant interest on PC platforms, ranking first in the Twitch gaming category on its launch day.

'Assassin's Creed' has maintained steady growth as one of Ubisoft's most enduring franchises. According to data released by Ubisoft, the series reached 140 million units in cumulative sales in 2019 and surpassed 200 million in 2022. Following the release of new titles such as 'Assassin's Creed Mirage,' 'Assassin's Creed Shadows,' and 'Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced,' along with the continued sales of existing titles, the series has added 50 million units in about four years to reach this new milestone of 250 million.

This cumulative sales figure is among the highest in the gaming industry. Based on these numbers, 'Assassin's Creed' has surpassed the 'Final Fantasy' series, which SQUARE ENIX recently reported at approximately 230 million units. It now ranks among the top-selling game franchises in the world, alongside titles such as 'Grand Theft Auto (GTA),' 'Call of Duty,' 'Pokémon,' and 'Super Mario,' and remains the highest-selling game IP in Ubisoft's portfolio.
