Global game developer and publisher NetEase Games and its subsidiary, 24 Entertainment, revealed a new trailer for their upcoming title, Blood Message, at Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, which concluded on the 9th (KST).
Titled 'Hold Till Dawn,' the trailer offers the first detailed look at the protagonist's narrative.
The footage builds anticipation for the game's story by highlighting the protagonist's past memories, personality traits, and the journey of his son's growth. It also features actual gameplay combat, showcasing realistic character movements such as basic attacks, dodges, and blocks, providing a glimpse into the game's graphical quality and combat design. A chase sequence that highlights the game's dramatic elements is also included.
Blood Message is a single-player action-adventure game set against the backdrop of the late Tang Dynasty in China, currently in development for PC and console platforms.
First announced in June 2025, it is the first AAA single-player title developed by NetEase Games. The game features realistic graphics and spectacular combat powered by Unreal Engine 5 and the studio's proprietary cutting-edge technology, while incorporating a rich Eastern narrative.
Blood Message follows the story of an unnamed messenger caught in a riot in the ancient oasis city of Dunhuang during the late Tang Dynasty. The game is a third-person action-adventure epic that chronicles the tumultuous journey of the protagonist and his young son. The game spans a 3k-li trek from Dunhuang to the Tang capital of Chang'an, challenging players to survive the harsh deserts and rugged natural environments of Central and East Asia. It also draws on historical research from the late Tang period to bring the era's diverse locations, cultures, and stories to life.
Blood Message, NetEase Games' first AAA single-player title, is currently in preparation for a global release, with the launch date yet to be determined.
