With the release of an animation teaser based on the globally successful web novel and webtoon IP 'Overgeared', anticipation is building for Nexon's upcoming MMORPG, Project T, which is slated for release later this year.
On the 3rd, the animation teaser and main voice cast lineup were officially unveiled via the official YouTube channels of ANIPLUS and KakaoPage, as well as the official website of North American streaming service Crunchyroll.
The project has drawn significant attention for its star-studded voice cast, including Asami Seto, known for her role as Nobara Kugisaki in 'Jujutsu Kaisen', and Tatsumaru Tachibana, who voiced Shin in 'Sakamoto Days' and Maomao in 'The Apothecary Diaries'. The 'Overgeared' animation is scheduled for a global release this October.
Overgeared' is a mega-hit in Korea, boasting approximately 1.3 billion views and over 700k comments across its web novel and webtoon versions. It follows the thrilling adventures of the protagonist, Shin Young-woo, who discovers an item in the popular virtual reality game 'Satisfy' that allows him to change his class to 'Pagma's Descendant,' a job with transcendent power. The original web novel concluded successfully in April 2024, while the webtoon continues to be serialized to great popularity on KakaoPage.
Given the strong fandom and proven world-building of the 'Overgeared' IP, the news of its adaptation into a game has heightened expectations among both original fans and MMORPG players for Nexon's Project T.
Nexon's Project T faithfully recreates the original's unique world, which blends fantasy and medieval settings within a virtual reality framework. It features a diverse array of content, including hidden quests, hidden classes, narrative arcs, and a crafting system. By showcasing iconic characters like Yura and Jishuka and delivering an immersive story, the game allows players to experience a vast, player-driven world where they can participate in nation-building, wars, and the granting of titles.
Meanwhile, in April 2024, Nexon successfully signed a global publishing agreement for Project T with Gray Games, a new studio composed of developers with extensive experience in MMORPG development and live services.
