Actor Aaron Paul, best known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in the hit series 'Breaking Bad,' is joining the cast of the Prime Video original series 'Fallout' for its third season. The news was first reported by Deadline, though details regarding his character and the size of his role have not yet been disclosed.
This casting has drawn significant attention due to Paul's long-standing status as a fan of the 'Fallout' franchise. He famously attended the 'Fallout: New Vegas' launch party at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas in 2010, and photos of him mingling with fans and Bethesda developers at the event have recently resurfaced. It marks a full-circle moment, as he joins the 'Fallout' series roughly 16 years after attending that game launch party.
His support for the franchise continued even after the game-based series began production. He demonstrated his affection for the show by attending both the Hollywood premiere of 'Fallout' Season 1 and the London premiere of Season 2. Producer Jonathan Nolan previously told IGN that Paul had been incredibly enthusiastic about the show during the premieres. Nolan added that he is "a guy I really love," noting how enjoyable it is to discover that long-time friends and colleagues have been fans of the games all along.
His connection to the producer duo Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also played a role in his casting. Paul previously starred in the HBO series 'Westworld,' which the couple produced, playing a major role until the show's conclusion.
Paul is no stranger to game-related projects. He starred in the 2014 film 'Need for Speed' and provided the voice for Nyx Ulric in the 2016 film 'Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.' Last year, he also voiced the protagonist Robert Robertson III in the game 'Dispatch.'
Meanwhile, the 'Fallout' series on Prime Video, which has released two seasons so far, continues to be a hit, consistently ranking at the top of streaming charts.
