3rd Weekly Esports of May - MSI coming to a close, competitors for Overwatch World Cup announced!

 

Hello everyone! Here's the Weekly Esports for you to get caught up with this week's esports news and events!



Last week, the Group Stage of MSI 2017 began in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There have been many intense and interesting matches featuring various teams hailing from different leagues across the globe. From LCK, SKT T1, the victor of Spring Split, participated in MSI. They have been placed the first with an amazing score of 8-2, successfully securing their place in the Semifinals. Fans were especially awed by Peanut, who showed excellent gaming performance with his Lee Sin. MSI is coming to an end now, and all of us are looking forward to finding out who the winner is for this year’s MSI!



The Overwatch World Cup season is just around the corner! Last week, the participants competing in the Overwatch World Cup were announced last week. Here are the groups, from A to E. This is the 2nd Overwatch World Cup, and it’s been expanded to total 5 tournaments. The Group Stage for 8 groups will be held in Shanghai, Sydney, Katowice, and Burbank, with the Finals will taking place at Blizzcon 2017 in Anaheim, USA, in the following November.
