Draw show for Worlds 2022 to be held Sep. 11, shortly after LCS finals

Almost all the teams that will participate in the 2022 LoL World Championship have been decided. With only a few more teams left, Riot Games announced the date for the draw show. The draw for the group stage and play-in stage will be held after the LCS finals on Sep. 11.

 

For the play-in stage, 12 teams will be divided into three pools. The first pool will consist of LPL #4 seed, LCK #4 seed, LEC #3 seed, and PCS #2 seed. The second pool will have LEC #4 seed, LCS #3 seed, VCS #2 seed, and LJL #1 seed, and the third pool will consist of LCK #1 seed, TCL #1 seed, and CBLOL #1 seed. Teams from the same region cannot be drawn into the same group.

 

The group stage will have 12 teams with three pools as well. The first pool will consist of LPL #1 seed, LCK #1 seed, LCS #1 seed, and LEC # 1 seed. The second pool will feature LPL #2 seed, LCK #2 seed, LEC #2 seed, and PCS #1 seed. The third pool will be of LPL #3 seed, LCK #2 seed, LCS #2 seed, and VCS #1 seed.

 

Teams from the same region cannot be drawn into the same group for both play-ins and groups. The teams that passed the play-ins will be placed into the fourth slot for each group.
