T1 Cuzz: "If another player can fill in the shoes for an under performing player, it’s a very good sign for the team."

On day 33 of the 2020 LCK Summer split, T1 took down SANDBOX gaming with a set score of 2-0. With the hyped rookie mid laner of T1, Clozer, starting for the team, T1 was able to close out the series in a very quick fashion. Despite SB drafting Sona-Lux bot lane, a duo that’s gaining a bit of traction in the LEC and the LCS, T1 was able to shut down SB to take their 9th victory of the regular season.

The jungler for T1, Cuzz, joined the press room for a post-match interview.

How does it feel to take the victory today?

We’re always preparing hard to win, and I’m glad that we’re now on a three-match win streak.

With the much hyped rookie, Clozer, starting for the team, T1 took two consecutive match victories. How do you rate his performance?

While his mechanics are really good, there are still things that he needs to work on. However, he follows the orders from me and the bot lane, who have a lot more experience under our belt. He also gets along well with the teammates. He may be inexperienced, but that’s just because solo queue is a lot different from the team game. He’ll come across many different scenarios that he will not have experienced in solo queue, so he’ll need to overcome them well.

The team as a whole is performing a lot better.

We’re definitely getting better overall, and the things we’re preparing are working out. Many things are coming together, and that accredits to our increased performance.

Kha’zix has a pretty high win rate in the LEC. What are your thoughts on Kha’zix?

While it did get buffed, the champion doesn’t function as well as it did in the past. Since he’s an assassin champion, he needs to have the right composition to be played in competitive play. It’s a situational pick.

You also get subbed in and out with Ellim as well.

I can’t always play well. If another player can fill in the shoes for an under performing player, it’s a very good sign for the team. It motivates me to become better as well, since it’s all in good competitive spirit.

Do you think Faker’s also receiving motivation, in the same manner as you?

He sits right beside me all the time, and based on my observations, I think so. He’s getting better on an individual level, and his plays are getting a lot sharper. Although I haven’t sat down to blatantly talk about this, I think he’s motivated. Just like how I was.

Lastly, a word to your fans?

I want to thank all the fans for the support, and please send those same words of support to my other teammates as well.
