DRX Deft: “In order to bring the trophy home, we have to be the best anyways. We’ll prove ourselves from the bottom up.”

Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu’s determination was incredible. Although DRX’s journey in the playoffs started much earlier than they hoped, he was determined to take the LCK championship trophy home.

On the 16th (KST), DragonX faced off against APK Prince in Round 2 of the 2020 LCK Spring. With a set score of 2-1, DRX took the victory against APK Prince, but because of the set loss in Game 2, DRX placed 3rd in the regular season and will be facing the winner of the Wildcard match between KT Rolster and DAMWON Gaming. He commented, “In order to bring the trophy home, we have to be the best anyways. We’ll prove ourselves from the bottom up.”

The following is the Inven exclusive 1 on 1 interview with the Bot Laner and the captain of DRX, Deft.

How does it feel to take the victory home tonight?

Although we won, it wasn’t the result we wanted, so I’m pretty disappointed.

It was a match where the team was able to take 2nd place in the regular season. The team must be left with a lot of regrets.

In order to bring the trophy home, we have to be the best anyways. We’ll prove ourselves from the bottom up.

APK picked Twitch in Game 1. What are your thoughts on the Champion?

I practiced Twitch in Solo Queue, and while it’s a good pick when ahead, it’s really hard to get ahead with Twitch.

Out of 10, how do you rate the team’s performance tonight?

I’d give it a 5. Game 2 was definitely winnable, but we lost because we made a lot of mistakes. There were important things that we didn’t do in the game, so 5 is a good answer.

Keria has been performing exceptionally well as of late. Some people are saying it’s because of you not dying a lot when left alone in lane. Thoughts?

He comes to my side when I’m in danger, so I don’t really feel that he’s always roaming.

Between KT Rolster and DAMWON Gaming, who do you hope to face?

It’s important to raise our performance level, so it doesn’t really matter who I face.

Lastly, can you share your resolution for the playoffs?

There’s not a lot of time left to prepare for it, so we’ll make sure to work extra hard to perform well.
