Golden Guardians have decided to promote Choi "huhi" Jae-hyun to their main roster for the League of Legends Championship Series this weekend in hopes to "improve the team's communication," likely in an effort to push to playoffs. Huhi replaces Yuri "Keith" Jew, who has had a somewhat rocky season after role-swapping to support this past off-season.

Golden Guardians was picked by many to be in the bottom couple places after their roster announcement this year, but has stayed with the majority of the pack so far. There is a "soup" of seven teams at 6-6 and 5-7, fighting for four playoff spots between them. While Keith had a very poor performance in his first few games, he quadrupled his KDA in the few games afterward and looked much more impressive overall.

Huhi also role-swapped to support last year, but in May rather than November, and has played nearly two full splits in the role. Golden Guardians Academy has a 6-6 record, but huhi has the second highest KDA and highest kill participation on the squad, which is likely also part of what the LCS team is hoping to utilize.

There have been three other recent roster swaps from teams' Academy to LCS in the past weeks, and there will likely be more as we near closer to playoffs this Spring. Thanks to Riot's change in Worlds Qualifications, teams are better off making changes now to learn and improve before Summer.
