Telltale Games unveiled a new trailer for 'The Wolf Among Us 2' at Summer Game Fest 2026 (SGF 2026) and announced a 2027 release window.

This footage marks the first major update in roughly four years, following the initial official gameplay trailer released in 2022. While Telltale had reaffirmed the game's development at that time, the long period of silence that followed had sparked concerns among fans. This announcement is significant as the first major update after that extended hiatus.

'The Wolf Among Us 2' is a narrative adventure game based on Bill Willingham's popular comic series 'Fables.' Set in a world where fairy tale characters live in hiding within human society, players take on the role of Bigby Wolf—the 'Big Bad Wolf'—to investigate various cases. The 2013 original was highly acclaimed for Telltale's signature choice-based storytelling and noir atmosphere, and it remains one of the studio's most iconic titles to this day.

However, the development of the sequel was not smooth. Although Telltale announced plans for the sequel in 2017, the project was halted when the company entered bankruptcy proceedings in 2018. LCG Entertainment, which later acquired the Telltale brand, rebuilt the company and revived the project at The Game Awards in 2019. However, the development period extended as they discarded the existing work and started from scratch. The release schedule was subsequently pushed back repeatedly due to various factors, including an engine change and internal restructuring.

The SGF 2026 trailer featured the return of key characters such as Bigby Wolf and Snow White, while showcasing the dark fairy-tale aesthetic and crime-investigation elements characteristic of the series. Telltale confirmed that the game is currently in development with a target release of 2027.

Notably, the end of the video teased a remaster project for the original 'The Wolf Among Us,' slated for release later this year. This project, which updates the 2013 title for modern platforms, is seen as a move to revitalize the entire series ahead of the sequel's launch. Having weathered company closures, project cancellations, development restarts, and a four-year silence, the 'The Wolf Among Us' series is finally moving again, fueling renewed excitement among fans.
