AMD has announced FSR 4.1 support for RDNA 3 and RDNA 2 architectures.
On the 14th, AMD Senior Vice President Jack Huynh stated on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, "We power over a billion gaming devices and we take our users very seriously." He officially confirmed the support, adding, "Starting this July, users with RDNA 3-based graphics cards will also be able to experience sharper visuals through FSR 4.1."
Previously, AMD had limited FSR 4 exclusively to the RDNA 4 architecture, citing technical constraints. Meanwhile, competitor NVIDIA announced immediate DLSS 4 support for all RTX models, leading to public speculation that AMD was abandoning its older graphics cards. Huynh's announcement is seen as a move to appease disappointed existing AMD graphics card users.
Huynh emphasized, "With this RDNA 3-based FSR 4.1 update, users will be able to play over 300 games with greater clarity and smoother performance." He further promised continued support for older products, adding, "Our goal is to bring FSR 4.1 to the RDNA 2 architecture by 2027."
