Jang Yoon-chul secured first place in Group B of the Google Play ASL Season 21 Round of 16, held at Freec Up Studio in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 14th. After an easy victory over Lim Jin-mook, he engaged in a hard-fought three-set series against Jo Il-jang in the winner's match, ultimately winning 2-1.
The following is the post-match interview with Jang Yoon-chul.

Q. How do you feel about advancing to the quarterfinals as the group winner?
I didn't think today would be easy, but I'm happy that I made it through more smoothly than I expected.
Q. You hold the record for the most runner-up finishes in ASL history. You must be hungry for a championship title—who do you want to face in the quarterfinals?
First of all, I want to face a Terran player, specifically one from Group D.
Q. How did you prepare for your match against Lim Jin-mook?
I planned to pressure him with Zealots and Dragoons and adapt as the game progressed.
Q. In the winner's match against Jo Il-jang, you lost the first game quite helplessly to Hydralisks. What happened?
I thought I could hold it off. Also, I made a mistake by building a Cannon first when I should have started with a Nexus.
Q. Who do you think will advance from next week's 'Taek - Lee - Ssang' group?
I think Lee Young-ho will advance, and Kim Taek-yong's form has been excellent lately.
Q. Protoss players always struggle against early Hydralisk pressure. Even in the third set, it was a difficult win despite your solid defense.
I think that was because I made a lot of mistakes in the third set. There was a point in the middle of the game where I didn't produce any units for over a minute. If I had just kept my supply count up and moved out, it would have been an easy win.
Q. Any final words?
I still feel like I'm lacking, and I'm hungry for more. I'll push forward to reach the semifinals, the finals, and eventually win the championship.
