Hanwha Life Esports Brion lost 0-2 to kt Rolster in their 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 1 match held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 12th. The first set was nearly a perfect game for their opponents; from Brion's perspective, nothing went right, and it was a crushing defeat in which they failed to secure a single kill.
The second set was no easier. Although they managed to pick up one kill to briefly stall the gold gap and contested a dragon, that was the extent of their resistance, and they ultimately lost. Below is the interview with HLE Head Coach Kim Sang-soo and player 'Casting' Shin Min-je.

Q. Today's match was a complete defeat.
Head Coach Kim Sang-soo= Our performance was poor. We were ineffective both when applying pressure and when we weren't. I will coach the team better for the next match to show a stronger performance.
'Casting'= We knew the opponent was strong, so we analyzed how to win and which of KT's operational styles fit the current meta. Our preparations didn't translate well, and the opponent played a very solid game, leading to our 0-2 loss.
Q. What was the most disappointing aspect?
Head Coach Kim Sang-soo= kt Rolster is very well-structured and excels at snowballing games through lane priority. I feel we were defeated helplessly before we could even utilize our own weapons or strengths.
'Casting'= What made kt Rolster feel superior to us was their game pace and their ability to make quick, accurate decisions on what to do and what to avoid.
Q. What was the intention behind the first-pick Annie?
Head Coach Kim Sang-soo= Annie has strong team-fighting capabilities, and in the laning phase, she can hold her own if she coordinates her turns with the jungler and support. We thought she fit the game plan we had in mind. We were confident in the Annie vs. Mel matchup from our scrims, but the opponent played the laning phase very well.
Q. Any final words?
Head Coach Kim Sang-soo= We will learn from today's match and prepare well for the next one.
'Casting'= Our performance was not good. We will come back better next time. Personally, I feel I am adapting and improving in terms of practice and the tournament environment, so I will show a better performance in the future.
