According to a release, Riot Games has revealed Teamfight Tactics’ 17th set, Space Gods, with the new update set to launch across PC and mobile on April 15th after arriving on the game’s Public Beta Environment (PBE) on March 31st.

According to the release, Space Gods introduces a sci-fi and fantasy-themed update centred around champions competing for the favour of a group of deities, each offering different gameplay bonuses. Riot’s official set overview also confirmed that Space Gods is TFT’s 17th set and will arrive with patch 17.1.

One of the set’s biggest changes is the introduction of the Realm of the Gods, a new mechanic that replaces TFT’s traditional carousel system. Instead of selecting champions and items from a rotating shared pool, players will choose between offerings from two randomly selected Gods during each game. Players who align with one God multiple times during the early and mid stages will later receive a unique boon tied to that deity.

According to the release, the Gods featured in the set include Soraka, Yasuo, Ahri, Thresh, Kayle, Varus, Evelynn, Ekko and Aurelion Sol, all reimagined as rulers with their own blessings. Riot’s official overview described these offerings as ranging from health and economy-focused benefits to risk-reward mechanics and item-based advantages.

Space Gods also adds a new roster of champions, traits and summons. According to the release, fan-favourite units such as Master Yi, Pyke and Maokai are returning, while Fiora, Shen, Vex, Graves and Blitzcrank will appear as five-cost champions for the first time. The update also introduces TFT-exclusive elements, including the summon duo Bia and Bayin, along with Primordian Swarmlings.

Among the traits highlighted by Riot are Meeple, Anima, Dark Star, Stargazer, Mecha and Fateweaver. Riot’s set overview said these traits will provide a range of new strategic options, from summoning additional units and scaling through losses to transforming champions into stronger forms and altering board hexes through constellation-based effects.

The set will also include around 40 new Augments, according to the release, including eight Hero Augments that give champions alternate abilities. One of those augments will grant access to Zed as an infinite-cloning five-cost champion. Cosmetic additions arriving alongside the set include Chibi Battle Bat Xayah, Chibi Star Guardian Syndra, Prestige Chibi Star Nemesis Morgana, Chosen of the Wolf Katarina Unbound, Dark Star Mordekaiser Unbound and the Star Nemesis Arena.

Noemi Coute, Set Design Lead at Riot Games, said the new set marked TFT’s closest collaboration yet between its Art, Design and UX teams: “Space Gods intertwines the sci-fi and fantasy genres. … With the Realm of the Gods mechanic replacing the carousel for the first time in TFT’s history, we’re offering players an opportunity to see our Gods in all their glory.”

The announcement marks TFT’s first set release of 2026 and follows Riot’s continued cadence of three major set updates per year for the autobattler. Riot published the full Space Gods overview on March 30th, following a Dev Drop reveal on March 28th and a set cinematic released on March 27th.
