Bandai Namco Studios Singapore and Kakehashi Games confirmed Wednesday that their upcoming action-adventure title Hirogami is staying the course for its September 3 release date on PC and PlayStation 5.
The origami-inspired 3D platformer was first revealed with its September launch window during June’s PlayStation State of Play presentation. Since then, it has appeared in the Future Games Show Summer Showcase and was recently showcased at Gamescom. Despite several independent developers shifting their release calendars in the wake of Team Cherry’s long-awaited announcement of Hollow Knight: Silksong, Hirogami remains on schedule.
In a statement, Matt Sakuraoka-Gilman, worldwide publishing director at Kakehashi Games, said the team is committed to keeping its plans intact. “We have nothing but love, admiration and best wishes for our friends at Team Cherry,” Sakuraoka-Gilman said. “And we have respect and understanding for every developer getting out of Silksong’s way. But Hirogami is ready to launch, our community is ready to play it, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Set in a stylized paper-folded universe, Hirogami follows Hiro, a warrior who wields a mystical fan to traverse landscapes, solve puzzles and battle digital invaders. Players can transform into animal forms to overcome platforming challenges and protect the fragile origami realm.
Hirogami will release September 3, 2025, on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5. Bandai Namco Studios Singapore and Kakehashi Games closed their announcement with a nod to Team Cherry, congratulating the developer on its surprise launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong.
