Konami Digital Entertainment and Arsenal have renewed a multi-year partnership that keeps the Premier League club as a core team in Konami’s free-to-play soccer title eFootball. The extension, in place for more than eight years, continues Konami’s role as Arsenal’s official football video game partner and preserves in-game authenticity for the club’s kits and Emirates Stadium.

To coincide with the renewal and the appointment of men’s first-team captain Martin Ødegaard as a new club ambassador, eFootball players can secure a free Ødegaard “Highlight” player card and avatar between Aug. 7 and 13. Arsenal will remain one of eFootball’s primary featured clubs, and the deal maintains a slate of commercial rights for Konami, including the use of official branding and player imagery inside the series.

Konami characterized the agreement as a continuation of its work with an “iconic” club and a reflection of its commitment to iterating on eFootball’s live-service platform. The company’s European president, Shinji Namekawa, said the extension underscores Konami’s plan to keep evolving the game while collaborating with a partner that exemplifies high standards on and off the pitch.

Arsenal framed the renewal as the next chapter in a long-running alliance rooted in shared priorities around innovation and growth. Chief commercial officer Juliet Slot said the club is pleased that Arsenal will continue to have a prominent role in eFootball as both companies look to the future of the franchise.

Since 2022, Arsenal has participated as a featured club in the eFootball Championship, with supporters seeing a mix of on- and off-game initiatives ranging from events at Emirates Stadium to limited-time digital content. The latest activation centers on Ødegaard’s ambassador role and the weeklong in-game reward.

eFootball, the rebranded successor to the Pro Evolution Soccer series, operates as a free-to-play platform across compatible devices and continues to receive seasonal updates. Konami said the title has surpassed 800 million downloads worldwide. Further details about upcoming Arsenal-themed content were not disclosed.
