▲ BlizzCon is right around the corner. What will 2019 have in store?

Every year since 2005, tens of thousands of gaming enthusiasts travel from around the world to California to experience BlizzCon. There are few places like it on earth. From cosplayers posing for photos to hundreds standing in line to try out the newest demos to a sea of fans listening to Activision Blizzard executives announce what's the come for their company, it's a gaming utopia for many.

As BlizzCon is scheduled to kick off next Friday, November 1 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Inven Global decided to look at what's been revealed, hinted at and leaked thus far in terms of potential upcoming announcements.

Overwatch 2 in the works?

Blizzard Entertainment has kept their lips sealed when it comes to what's next in the Overwatch universe. There have been new heroes, cinematics, and game modes but...another game altogether? An expansion to their original title? Only those within the confines of the company's headquarters know for sure but fans are chomping at the bit to see what's in store. And if there's a place their thirst is going to be quenched, it's at BlizzCon.

A report from Kotaku back in June suggests that Overwatch 2 may be in the works and could be shown at next week's event. Other than the game possibly having PVE events, which could have changed during development, little information is actually known.

What is known is that the game is due for another hero and that millions of fans from around the globe will be refreshing their social media feeds, watching live streams online or be in the crowd clenching their fists to see what's next.

Where does the Diablo franchise go next?

If you are involved in the gaming industry in any capacity you are aware of what happened at last year's BlizzCon as it pertains to the Diablo franchise. Long-time fans couldn't wait to see how the franchise would evolve and continue to grow even as bigger titles took up more of the company's attention.

When Diablo Immortal, a mobile game expected to launch in the near future, was announced, the reaction was...not what Blizzard had hoped.

But that's in the past, right? Fans have moved on and are looking to give Blizzard another chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of those wanting more...right? Well, recent news may give them something to look forward to.

Earlier in the week, an advertisement in GameStar, a German gaming magazine, made its rounds on the internet. Within the publication was an advertisement for "The Art of Diablo" an upcoming book that showcases original artwork used in their iconic games such as Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Diablo 3 and...Diablo 4? That's right, someone may have spilled the beans on what was planning on being announced at BlizzCon.

No additional information was made available regarding what the focus of the game could be or what platform it may be arriving on. You all do have phones, right?

▲ Did a German advertisement spoil a BlizzCon exclusive?

Other titles within the Blizzard portfolio such as Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, and StarCraft are expected to be featured at the event. But outside of general speculation, no sneak peeks have found their way through the cracks of the internet.

With only one week left until BlizzCon 2019 begins, fans won't have to wait much longer to find out what they'll be playing in 2020 and beyond.
