MVP Black & Denial Esports advance from Phase 1 Group A

Yesterday marked the start of the Heroes of the Storm Fall Championship. From Phase 1 Group A, MVP Black and Denial Esports advanced in first and second place respectively.

Denial and MVP Black each swept Reborn and Burning Rage 2-0. Black's display of strength was particularly remarkable, claiming victory under 8 minutes in Game 1 before ending Game 2 with a shower of Warheads on Burning Rage's Core.

MVP Black’s momentum continued through the Winners match. In Game 1, Rich struck fear into Denial's hearts with his trademark Infernal Shrines Kerrigan play. Denial seemed to be in a better position in Game 2 as they managed to summon a Zerg swarm on Braxis Holdout, but things went south as soon as MVP Black opened a full-blown teamfight. MVP Black ended the series 2-0.

Burning Rage took out Reborn 2-0 in the Elimination match but ultimately fell to Denial in the Decider. In Game 1, Denial shut down Burning Rage’s Dehaka all game long before ending with a pivotal teamfight around Boss. Game 2 seemed to be going in Burning Rage’s favor, thanks to Gul’dan and Kerrigan's exploitation of Denial’s awkward draft, but one critical mistake in a teamfight was enough for Denial to take back the game and end the series 2-0.
