Riot Games releases meta-defining patches for League of Legends all around the year. Not only are these great opportunities for buffing champions, but they can also contain crucial nerfs for those dominating the competitive scene and the ranked ladder. We're currently at patch 25.13, and the mid-lane meta has established itself.
The following champions featured in this article have cemented their spot in high-rank matches. Besides win rates, they're also highly contested with constant bans and picks.
Here are the five best champions in mid-lane for League of Legends patch 25.13.
Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate always finds his way back into the meta. Considering the champion is equipped with key tools, like stuns and immense mobility, he only requires a nudge in the right direction.
At the time of writing, Twisted Fate is one of the most sought-after champions in the mid-lane on a global scale. He averages a 16 percent ban rate and a pick rate of 10 percent in matches ranked above Master, which is quite impressive. TF's win rate currently hovers around 51 percent, and if you decide to pick him in your next game, make sure to extend your dominance to the side lanes with helpful ganks.
LeBlanc

LeBlanc has been a staple in the mid-lane for a decent portion of this year. She has an impressively high ban rate of 23 percent, which tries to contain a 51 percent win rate. Though the ban rate should have teased a much higher win rate, LeBlanc's potential only reveals itself in the right hands.
An experienced LeBlanc player can easily take over a match since she is one of the most mobile champions in the game. LeBlanc is extremely hard to pin down, too, which makes her resistant to most ganking attempts from junglers.
Zoe

Zoe is another top mage for the mid-lane. At the time of writing, Zoe averages a 55 percent win rate in tiers Master and above. She has a ban rate of 13 percent and a pick rate of five percent, which makes her one of the most popular champions in the game.
Zoe retained her elite status in the mid-lane for a while now, mainly because of her snowball potential. She can easily trade with enemy mid-laners and also turn on the pressure on the side lanes with ease.
Talon

Talon takes his spot on our list with an impressive 54 percent win rate. While the champion's pick rate is at 2.4 percent, he gets banned by a 13 percent chance.
The main reason behind Talon's high ban rate is his pick-off potential. No matter the stage of the game, Talon can solo kill some of the most important champions on the enemy side by himself and safely get out of any trouble. This slippery assassin can ruin an ADC's plans in an instant, so it can explain the reasoning behind his high ban rate.
Galio

Galio is one of those champions that you're glad to have on your team once he unlocks his ultimate. Galio currently has a 53 percent win rate and a 5.55 percent pick rate.
Galio requires little to no introduction as well because he's just solid. He's great at lane control, difficult to take down, and immensely helpful for the side lanes. Once Galio levels up his ultimate, any gank attempt on the side lanes may result in regret because Galio can jump in to turn the tides around.
