On June 18, Riot Games, the developer of 'League of Legends,' unveiled the T1 championship skins commemorating their victory at the '2025 LoL World Championship.' These skins celebrate a historic three-year winning streak across stages in Seoul, London, and Chengdu.

The core art concept for this skin line is 'Ascended Warriors.' It captures the narrative of T1—a team that competed fiercely to reach the summit and finally ascended to the ranks of mythical beings—through brilliant colors and intricate details. The development team established three pillars for this concept: 'Legacy,' which embodies the heritage of victory; 'High Status,' which expresses the dignity and hierarchy of a winner; and 'Effortlessly Cool,' which translates a restrained playstyle into a modern aesthetic.

These three pillars were visualized in distinct ways. 'Legacy' originated from the players' initial suggestions to boldly use T1's signature red and actively incorporate branding elements like mascots and logos. 'High Status' utilized bright gold to evoke a sophisticated, premium feel while maintaining the team's unique identity. 'Effortlessly Cool' focused on stripping away ostentation to capture a sense of composure and chicness that remains unshaken under pressure. To materialize these abstract concepts, the developers explained that they used wings and feathers to represent T1's identity, and liquid gold and marble textures to depict hierarchy.

The 'Ascended Warriors' theme was not set from the start. While exploring two initial directions, the developers conceived the image of a winged champion ascending to godhood, which led to the final theme. This was also when the players' personal preferences began to be integrated. Moon 'Oner' Hyeon-joon expressed satisfaction with the appearance of 'Xin Zhao,' while Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok was pleased with the design of 'Galio's' wings, which feature an embedded T1 logo.

Meanwhile, 30% of the revenue from these championship skins will be distributed to the T1 organization and its players to support and revitalize the esports ecosystem.

Ryu 'Keria' Min-seok's 'Seraphine' skin is characterized by the most prominent wing motif in the lineup. The developers added vitality to the movement of the wings to create a texture that looks as if it is alive and breathing.

Ryu Min-seok hoped to incorporate his preferred cute and girlish aesthetic into the skin. The developers noted that the champion's base appearance made it easy to accommodate these requests. A voluminous hairstyle was used to emphasize a cute impression, and the overall costume was designed with a focus on visual beauty rather than a serious tone.

Opinions were also actively reflected in the fine details, such as the specific tattoo design on Seraphine's cheek. The developers expressed high satisfaction with the in-game implementation of the hairstyle, adding that players will enjoy discovering these subtle elements.

The recall animation was also planned based on Ryu Min-seok's ideas. It depicts Seraphine wearing a T1 jacket and performing on a stage with a large LED screen, with the background screen paying homage to the team's actual reactions during the 2025 World Championship quarterfinals. The motion progresses through a stage where Seraphine reaches for the sky as a holographic screen appears, concluding with a signature move where she dances and tosses off her T1 jacket.

The developers explained that while the concept was clear, the process of converting it into a screen video required precision. They revealed that for maximum quality, concept artists hand-drew 12 to 16 frames of 2D animation individually.

Lee 'Gumayusi' Min-hyeong's 'Miss Fortune' skin is a Mythic grade, the highest in this lineup, commemorating his selection as the 2025 World Championship MVP. Lee Min-hyeong requested distinct details for Miss Fortune and a special quality that sets it apart from other skins.

According to the developers, both the Miss Fortune and 'Yu Nara' skins started with a serious tone in the initial planning phase. However, through feedback from Lee Min-hyeong, the concept for Miss Fortune shifted toward a more mature and alluring direction. As the highest-tier skin, the focus was on emphasizing the silhouette, adding weight with rear tassels and a voluminous fur wrap around the shoulders. To maintain the character's inherent femme fatale image while incorporating T1's visual elements, they combined an elegant outfit with a wild hairstyle to create a contrast.

The core element of this skin is a set of three firearms. To commemorate Lee Min-hyeong's three championships, the skin design reflects one from each winning year: 2023, 2024, and 2025. When the ultimate skill is cast, a different set of weapons appears with effects, rotating each time it is activated. Additionally, a special hairstyle effect that flows in the wind was added for the ultimate skill.

The developers also emphasized impact in the Visual Effects (VFX). Following Lee Min-hyeong's suggestions of existing skins he preferred, the team established a direction. Various Easter eggs related to the player were included, such as a Baron doll appearing during certain animations to symbolize a Baron steal. The developers explained that they invested significant time in texture work to keep the hair dark while avoiding a monotonous look.

The recall animation captures the narrative of Lee Min-hyeong overcoming the threats he faced in decisive matches. It features scenes of him jumping over 'Kalista's' spears, dodging 'Ashe's' arrows, and shooting down 'Ziggs'' bombs. Afterward, Miss Fortune proves her performance by holding three championship trophies and the Finals MVP trophy. The developers stated that they analyzed past highlights to use as references for the motion.

Lee 'Gumayusi' Min-hyeong's second skin, 'Yu Nara,' was produced at the Epic grade. This skin has a special backstory. When Yu Nara was released, the champion's designer mentioned Lee Min-hyeong by name in an interview when asked, "Which pro player would you like to see play Yu Nara?" Lee Min-hyeong found this memorable. The developers interpreted his choice of Yu Nara as a championship skin as a form of reply to the developer's message.

The Yu Nara skin features a cute and cheerful atmosphere, contrasting with the previously mentioned Miss Fortune. While maintaining the character's basic physique and original form, it adds originality with a twin-bun hairstyle requested by Lee Min-hyeong—a rare feature among existing Yu Nara skins.

The weapon, a set of prayer beads, was reinterpreted as T1's mascot, 'Atti.' Beyond simply applying the mascot's appearance, the developers added detail by giving each bird on the beads a different expression, such as bright, funny, or scary faces.

The recall animation also followed Lee Min-hyeong's ideas. It depicts the character momentarily agitated by obstacles while wishing for victory, but soon finding peace upon seeing a butterfly. The developers broke this down into stages: calm meditation, struggling with conflict and confusion, and finding stability as a butterfly appears with a ray of light. They described it as a lyrical performance that differentiates itself from the more cheerful recall animations of other skins.

The 'Galio' skin for Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok, who achieved his 6th World Championship title, was created based on specific requests. Lee Sang-hyeok asked for the active use of T1 gold materials, the addition of visual elements and symbolism from the wings to the tail, and the reflection of his history with Galio in the skin.

Following Lee Sang-hyeok's desire for a unique skin, the developers designed the wing silhouette differently from the base Galio skin. While the base Galio's wings are segmented, this skin's wings were custom-made in a shape reminiscent of the T1 logo. This required new animations for all of Galio's movements to ensure quality from every angle during the transition from 2D to 3D.

The developers described Lee Sang-hyeok's feedback style as "the same as how he plays the game: he doesn't stop until it's perfect." In fact, the final adjustments were completed just one week before the briefing. The in-game model's shading was adjusted to ensure clear focus from the face down to the legs.

The recall animation features Galio flying up while glowing with wings spread, the background transitioning into outer space as he ascends, and six stars symbolizing his six championships circling the character. Upon landing, the T1 logo appears on the ground. After reviewing the work, Lee Sang-hyeok suggested adding VFX to enhance Galio's movements and requested an effect where the Earth appears to shrink to emphasize the ascent, which was also implemented. The developers praised Lee Sang-hyeok for his exceptional vision and sense for skin presentation.

Moon 'Oner' Hyeon-joon's 'Xin Zhao' skin focused on maintaining his signature cloak-jacket element. His requirements were relatively clear: include the cloak design and utilize a red weapon.

The developers stated that the production of Xin Zhao was the smoothest. Because the design was finalized early, it served as the benchmark for the entire skin line. Other champion skins drew much inspiration from Xin Zhao's design, including the use of wings, marble-textured body expressions, and the ascension performance, resulting in a skin with a natural, effortless cool.

To reflect Moon Hyeon-joon's unique jacket-wearing style, the cloak was given a custom silhouette and animation applied to all movements rather than a standard shape. In line with the fantasy theme, the jacket hem was given a mysterious texture, and a wolf design was added to the shoulders to enhance dynamism. A key challenge during in-game implementation was adjusting the size of the jacket; if too large, it resembled a 'Pantheon' skin, and if too small, the effect was lost. The developers added that they adjusted the size specifically to emphasize the liveliness of the cloak when the champion dashes.

The recall includes an effect where a tiger-head totem lights up on the back and a motion highlighting his two previous championship titles. The developers used champions Moon Hyeon-joon is known for to represent his history. When two orbs appear at the start of the motion, he uses 'Lee Sin's' kick, 'Poppy's' hammer, and 'Pantheon's' shield to destroy the orbs and reveal the trophy. The black T1 jacket that marks the finale of the recall was not in the original plan but was added later.

Choi 'Doran' Hyun-joon's 'Ambessa' skin faced several challenges during the planning process. To materialize Choi Hyun-joon's requests, the developers went through numerous sketches to establish a direction. Choi requested a powerful and solid athlete motif, weapon sound effects, a hairstyle reminiscent of a lion's mane, and an intense red weapon design.

Midway through the process, the developers finalized the direction by creating independent sketches that differentiated the skin from the existing lineup. Choi Hyun-joon expressed satisfaction with the lion's mane hairstyle, and the dark-colored outfit highlighted Ambessa's inherent strength, completing a unique charm.

The developers chose to strengthen fantasy elements to differentiate it from previous championship skins. Consequently, mysterious wings were placed on Ambessa's shoulders, and a unique hairstyle was applied. This changed the silhouette from the base skin, requiring new custom animations. The request for a red weapon helped anchor the visual focus, leading to improved gameplay clarity. The final 3D model was completed by harmonizing a dark, sharp aesthetic with the bright elements of this year's theme.

The recall features Ambessa pulling Doran's sword, shield, and ring from a trophy and running toward the battlefield, while a Krug watches from afar. Within a short motion, they had to incorporate item memes derived from Choi Hyun-joon's summoner name, the Krug meme, and Ambessa's strong character. The developers noted that thanks to the solid ideas, they were able to naturally combine the fun Krug element without compromising the heroic pose of the warrior heading to the battlefield. Meanwhile, Choi Hyun-joon initially requested a younger-looking design for Ambessa, but this was not reflected in order to maintain the champion's original identity.
