H2 Interactive announced on the 16th that 'THANKS, LIGHT.' (hereinafter 'THANKS'), a Portal-like game for PC and PS5 developed by Writers Games, is participating in Steam Next Fest with a free demo update and a new trailer.
'THANKS' is a 3D puzzle platformer that features a unique spatial control system using light and shadows. Players use a flashlight to toggle objects between 2D and 3D states, exploring a liminal space where the boundaries between reality and unreality have collapsed. A free demo is currently available on Steam, and the game can be added to wishlists ahead of its official launch.
This update unlocks Chapter 3, which introduces new mysteries following the existing Chapters 1 and 2. Players can now experience more advanced geometry and physics-based puzzles. Additionally, based on user feedback, the developers have fixed bugs, smoothed out puzzle navigation, added subtitle display options, and included new background music (BGM) to enhance audio immersion.
In conjunction with the festival, a new 60-second trailer has been released, showcasing expanded gameplay elements and a glimpse into the game's unique world. The event runs from 2:00 AM on the 16th to 2:00 AM on the 23rd, and the updated free demo is available for anyone to download and play. The full version of 'THANKS' is scheduled for release on PC and PS5 this September.
