In the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Road to MSI Round 4 match held at the Wonju DB Promy Arena in Wonju, Gangwon-do, on the 13rd, Gen.G Esports secured a 3-0 shutout victory over kt Rolster to advance to the second seed decider. Gen.G will now face T1 in a high-stakes showdown for the final remaining MSI ticket.

In Game 1, kt Rolster played aggressively around Lee Sin and Camille, building a gold lead of over 7k. However, Gen.G proved their resilience. Despite stumbling, they held on, and once their damage dealers hit their power spikes, they began their counterattack. In particular, their ability to hold the line with 'Kiin' Kim Gi-in's Sion before instantly picking off an opponent with the nuking power of 'Chovy' Jung Ji-hun's Mel was masterful. Having lost momentum, kt Rolster faltered, and Gen.G closed out the game with a backdoor play by Mel and 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk's Ezreal.

Game 2 was a fierce back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading kills and maintaining a tight balance. The equilibrium broke around the 22-minute mark during a fight for Gen.G's third Dragon. Although kt Rolster picked off 'Duro' Ju Min-gyu's Nautilus and initiated the Dragon, Gen.G’s main squad overcame the numerical disadvantage to steal the objective and win the teamfight decisively. Having created a significant gap, Gen.G snowballed their lead, finishing with a 10k gold difference to take the second game.

With Gen.G leading 2-0, the third game began. Gen.G, who had secured first blood 15 minutes in, gained a massive advantage during kt Rolster's third Dragon timing. Though they had to retreat briefly due to low health, they quickly regrouped and ambushed kt Rolster as they were hitting the Dragon, with 'Canyon's' Naafiri successfully stealing it. They also took down 'Bdd' Kwak Bo-seong's Viktor, who had been targeting 'Chovy's' Lissandra. Gen.G then solidified their lead by picking off the opposing bottom duo in the mid-lane brush.

kt Rolster caught a break by taking down the fed Naafiri in the top lane and winning a subsequent Dragon teamfight. However, the result of the next Dragon fight was the complete opposite, as Gen.G pulled off a fantastic 'ping-pong' maneuver to win decisively. Gen.G then turned the tables on an attempt to catch their Lissandra, winning another skirmish and extending their lead to over 8k gold. Despite a tense moment where they conceded the Elder Dragon, Gen.G made a quick decision to push down the mid and bottom inhibitors. They then swept up four kills, starting with Viktor, as the Elder Dragon buff expired, putting an end to the series.
