Lineage Classic has unveiled its future update roadmap through a developer letter. This latest communication is notable for directly addressing long-standing player complaints and promising a new direction for the game.
First, drop rates are being improved. The plan is to increase base item drop rates and diversify acquisition sources, which were previously concentrated in specific areas. The overall reward structure will be overhauled, with equipment and materials now dropping directly from monsters. New equipment—including the Sayha's Bow, Gauntlets of Stone, Death Blade, Flame Sword, Flame Bow, and Mana Orb—will also become obtainable through hunting. To preserve the value of existing high-enchantment gear, items like the Thunder Sword, Silver Longbow, Ice Queen's Staff, and Frost Spear will be exchangeable based on their current enchantment levels.
These changes are a direct response to persistent player feedback regarding low drop rates and an over-reliance on 'cubes' for material acquisition. The developers stated that while these changes aim to make hunting more fun, top-tier new items will be limited to monster drops rather than crafting or exchange to maintain their rarity and value.

Another key keyword is the 'Forgotten Island.' Originally released in late 2002, this high-level area was designed as a high-risk, high-reward hunting ground featuring powerful monsters and unique rewards like ancient weapons. With the Sword of the Samurai and the Moon Longbow already in the game, players are eager to see what other ancient weapons might be introduced. The release date for the Forgotten Island has not yet been announced.
News regarding server transfers was also shared. Currently, some servers are so crowded they have queues, while others are sparsely populated, leading to extreme disparities in competitive environments. To maintain vitality across all servers regardless of specific faction outcomes, the team is preparing a 'personal and clan-based server transfer system.' Rumors are already circulating that some players are abandoning lopsided server rivalries in hopes of merging with other factions elsewhere.
For those who do not transfer, siege wars will be revitalized through improvements to tax revenue. Currently, income from sub-villages is too limited to generate significant tax revenue. The new plan involves subdividing territories based on castles, allowing a portion of Adena generated in hunting grounds to be collected as taxes. Additionally, the 'Blue Shark' mercenary group, led by the Castle-Ruling Clan's Master, will be revived.
The developers also acknowledged that the 'Forsaken Land' is currently too crowded for effective hunting. They plan to expand the map and provide dedicated Bonus Time Stones through events and Adena purchases. Character death recovery costs will be significantly reduced, and further quality-of-life improvements, such as a mobile-optimized UI and a revamped party UI, are also on the way.
