On the 30th, Pokémon Korea (CEO Lim Jae-beom) announced that it will host 'Pokémon Mega Festa 2026,' a large-scale event centered around the Seongdong-gu district of Seoul, starting May 1st to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon.
First, the 'Pokémon Secret Forest' at Seoul Forest, running until June 21st as part of the 2026 Seoul International Garden Show, features a mysterious forest-themed space spanning approximately 2,800 square meters, where visitors can meet cute Pokémon in the heart of the city.
At the on-site 'Pokémon Game Center,' visitors can capture special moments in a photo booth (paid) featuring the 30th-anniversary logo frame, while 'Pikachu’s Camping Village' and 'Pikachu Forest' will welcome guests with unique versions of Pikachu.
The event also offers a wealth of entertainment through various themed experience zones, exhibitions, and original merchandise, including the 'Pokémon Pokopia' experience booth, 'Rafflesia’s Treasure Warehouse,' 'Gengar’s Forest Cabin,' 'Eevee’s Secret Trail,' and the 'Pokémon Healing Forest Store.'
During the month of May, visitors can participate in the 'Pokémon GO' Seoul Stamp Rally. By collecting stamps at six designated locations, participants can receive special prizes such as a Pikachu or Snorlax sun visor and a 'Magikarp' promo card.
Throughout the same period, the 'Ditto Playground' in Seongsu-dong, decorated with a purple Ditto theme, offers a space to take photos with playful Dittos, while a pop-art-inspired store will feature original Pokémon merchandise.
The festival is further heightening fan excitement with a variety of attractions, including the Ditto Café (Matt Black Coffee) serving various drinks and ice cream, a Pokémon Trading Card Game showroom, and photo spots where fans can take pictures with a DJ Pikachu.
The 'Pokémon 30th Anniversary Party Pop-up Store,' running until May 31st at Trend Pot by Olive Young N Seongsu, adds a unique twist with party-themed merchandise and exhibition content, including photo zones and capsule toy zones.
In addition, the event will feature exclusive on-site merchandise that is sure to be a hit with collectors, including a 30th-anniversary logo sticker collection featuring every Pokémon in the Pokédex, a 'Birthday Party Edition' magnet set, sliding pin badges, deco stickers, and the Pokémon Center 30th-anniversary commemorative 'Pika Pika! Pikachu' plush.
Furthermore, 'Pokémon Run 2026 in Seoul' will be held on Children's Day, May 5th, at Ttukseom Hangang Park. Based on the story of Magikarp, this unique running event will see approximately 5,000 participants 'become' Magikarp as they race along the Han River.
Following this, 'Pokémon Sports Day 2026' will take place from May 24th to 25th at COEX Hall C in Samseong-dong, featuring the Pokémon Trainers Cup 2026, the Pokémon Trading Card Game 2026 Korean League Finals, a 30th-anniversary exhibition, licensed merchandise booths, and pop-up stores for all visitors to enjoy.
A Pokémon Korea representative stated, "We hope that the diverse content of Pokémon Mega Festa 2026, spread throughout the city, will become a festival where different generations can come together and connect," adding, "We hope everyone who loves Pokémon can laugh, enjoy, and create precious memories with Pokémon in their daily lives."
