Riot Games (Korea Representative Jo Hyuk-jin) is donating 800 flame-retardant jackets to Regional Cultural Heritage Care Centers to ensure the safety of field workers protecting national heritage sites during disasters or emergencies.
These centers are key institutions responsible for the on-site management of national heritage. In the event of disasters such as wildfires or floods, they identify risks and take swift action, including minor repairs, to minimize damage. For instance, during the nationwide wildfires in March 2025, the centers worked to protect heritage by installing fire-resistant blankets at Bonghwangsa Temple and Manhyujeong Pavilion in Andong, and relocating artifacts from Mohanjae in Hadong to safety.
Riot Games decided to provide the 800 flame-resistant jackets to help protect workers in hazardous environments. Made from a special flame-retardant material that prevents the spread of fire upon contact with flames, these jackets will help personnel prevent accidents and respond more effectively at fire scenes.
Since 2012, Riot Games has partnered with the Korea Heritage Service to protect and support Korean cultural heritage. The company has participated in the repatriation of seven overseas cultural artifacts and recently pledged support for the conservation of five Joseon Dynasty ceremonial flags held by the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Riot Games, which has become the first domestic company to surpass ₩10 billion in cumulative donations for heritage preservation, continues to work toward safeguarding the value of Korean cultural heritage.
"Protecting the safety of those dedicated to the front lines of heritage preservation is the first step in carrying the value of our heritage into the future," said Cho Hyuk-jin, Representative of Riot Games Korea. "I hope this support provides practical help to those in the field and serves as a vital link in ensuring our precious cultural heritage is safely passed down through generations."
