G2 Esports and Theta Labs have introduced a new AI-powered fan experience tool designed to deliver real-time information across G2’s competitive titles, including League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and Call of Duty.
The AI agent, known as Sami, is built on Theta’s decentralized cloud infrastructure and will be available through G2’s website and Discord beginning Feb. 17. According to both companies, the tool is designed to give fans instant access to match schedules, player information, standings and other competitive updates without relying on manual community responses.

G2 says Sami aims to streamline communication with its global audience by responding in natural language to questions about rosters, statistics and tournament results. The mascot-inspired personality is trained on G2-specific data and community lore to align with the organization’s established tone while remaining informative.
The system runs on Theta EdgeCloud, a hybrid platform that uses more than 30,000 distributed edge nodes alongside cloud GPUs from Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services. Theta states the infrastructure delivers roughly 80 petaflops of compute power and can reduce AI-processing costs to as low as one-fifth of traditional cloud services. Workloads are routed dynamically between high-performance data center GPUs and consumer-grade hardware depending on performance needs.
Theta continues to expand its presence in esports technology. Its AI infrastructure also supports organizations such as Cloud9, FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses, NRG, Gen.G, Dignitas and 100 Thieves.
Theta Labs CEO Mitch Liu said the demand for fast, reliable competitive information continues to grow across esports communities. G2 COO Sabrina Ratih noted that Sami is intended to be both functional and entertaining, blending G2’s playful branding with automated, real-time updates. Both companies say the rollout is part of a broader push toward AI-driven fan engagement tools that remain active across all digital channels.
