Rocket League World Championship Draws Record Crowds in Lyon as NRG Claims Title

NRG Esports claimed the Rocket League World Championship on Sunday, capping off a record-breaking tournament that drew nearly 10,000 fans each day to LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines. The North American roster secured the title with a commanding 4-1 victory in the Grand Final and earned the $300,000 top prize.

The event featured 20 teams and 60 players representing every major region, highlighting the international reach of Rocket League esports. NRG’s Massimo "Atomic" Franceschi, Landon "BeastMode" Konerman and Daniel "Daniel" Piecenski advanced strongly through the group stage before sealing the championship against Team Falcons, the winners of this year’s Raleigh Major.

The championship was part of a milestone stretch for esports in France, arriving just one week after the Fortnite Global Championships. Together, the two events brought an estimated $50 million in economic activity to Lyon, while welcoming spectators from more than 26 countries.
