The next expansion for Dave the Diver now has a release date. Developer Mintrocket announced that the game’s upcoming downloadable content, titled In the Jungle, will launch worldwide on June 18 for PC and consoles.
The announcement was accompanied by a new gameplay teaser trailer that debuted during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase on March 12. The trailer offers a brief look at several additions arriving with the expansion, including new characters, jungle environments, freshwater fish species and a variety of mini-games.
In the Jungle sends the game’s protagonist, Dave, away from the familiar Blue Hole and into a new region centered around a freshwater lake and a nearby village called Utara. According to Mintrocket, the DLC will include roughly 10 hours of new content and introduce mechanics and encounters that expand beyond those found in the base game and previous expansions.
Players will explore underwater environments filled with new aquatic life and ingredients while completing quests and building relationships with residents of the jungle community. These connections unlock additional opportunities within the village and affect Dave’s culinary ventures.
New Village, Restaurant and Gear Introduced
One of the expansion’s most significant additions is Utara itself, a jungle settlement where time progresses in real time. While there, players can dive for resources, gather fruit and complete side quests that deepen relationships with local characters.
The DLC also introduces Bancho Grill, a new restaurant featuring a freshwater-focused menu. Unlike the original Bancho Sushi restaurant in the base game, the new establishment allows players to move freely around the space to serve customers across multiple areas rather than a single horizontal service line.
As players strengthen ties with Utara’s residents, villagers may begin visiting Bancho Grill as patrons, tying the restaurant directly into the village’s progression systems.
The underwater exploration component also receives new tools. The expansion adds a versatile weapon called the Jungle Gun, which can transform into several different configurations, including a net gun, shotgun and sniper-style weapon. The system is designed to let players adapt their approach depending on the type of aquatic life or danger encountered in the freshwater lake.
Mintrocket also confirmed that physical versions of the game will be released for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The Complete Edition will include all currently released DLC, while a separate Collector’s Edition will feature additional merchandise such as pins, art prints and other themed items.
