On the 17th, Gen.G defeated JD Gaming of the LPL 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the EWC 2026 LoL tournament, held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France. Gen.G will face the winner of the upcoming BLG vs. DK match in the semifinals.

Although JD Gaming drew first blood by ganking 'Kiin's' Olaf, Gen.G responded as 'Duro's' Shen roamed to mid lane to take down 'HongQ's' Orianna. 'Canyon's' Jarvan then successfully stole the Dragon from JD Gaming before escaping safely. JD Gaming attempted a 2-on-1 dive on 'Chovy's' Galio in the bottom lane; while 'Chovy' fell, he managed to take down Trundle, ensuring the trade was not a loss for Gen.G.

Gen.G secured another kill on Orianna in the mid lane, putting them ahead overall. A skirmish broke out when JD Gaming targeted 'Chovy's' Galio, but Gen.G's teammates rotated quickly, resulting in a 1-for-1 trade between Orianna and Galio. While the gold gap remained narrow, Gen.G dictated the pace with aggressive plays. They picked off Jayce and quickly stacked three Dragons, snowballing their lead to win the first set comfortably.

In the second set, JD Gaming started with a significant advantage in the bottom lane. A desperate dive attempt by Gen.G was turned around by JD Gaming's Xayah-Rakan duo, putting JD Gaming ahead 4-0 in kills just five minutes into the game. Gen.G secured the Void Grubs first, but JD Gaming punished them and came out on top in the ensuing teamfight.

Although JD Gaming continued to win skirmishes, Gen.G's superior macro play kept the gold difference from widening significantly. However, JD Gaming held a clear advantage by securing three Dragon stacks. Seeing Rumble out of position, Gen.G attempted a Baron take, but 'Duro's' Neeko became isolated from the rest of the team during the teamfight.

Fortunately, Gen.G managed to force an even trade through a strong teamfight, largely thanks to 'Kiin's' Ambessa, who drew Aggro perfectly. After winning the next teamfight, Gen.G secured Baron and went on to win the final teamfight, closing out the series 2-0 and securing their spot in the semifinals.
