Sandfall Interactive announced today (the 24th) that 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has surpassed 8 million units in sales.

Released by Sandfall Interactive on April 24 of last year, 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has been praised by players and critics alike for its stunning visuals, reactive action system blended into turn-based RPG gameplay, deep narrative, and immersive soundtrack. Building on this success, the game surpassed 5 million units sold within six months of launch and set a record for the most Game of the Year (GOTY) awards in history, while developer Sandfall Interactive was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. Furthermore, it achieved a clean sweep of the five major game awards—the Golden Joystick Awards, D.I.C.E. Awards, The Game Awards, GDC Awards, and BAFTA Games Awards—becoming the second title after 'Baldur's Gate 3' to win all five.

Adding to these milestones, the game surpassed 8 million cumulative sales today, marking its first anniversary with continued success. Through its official X account, Sandfall Interactive expressed gratitude not only to those playing the game but also to everyone who has supported it through fan creations, streaming, and community engagement.

To mark the first anniversary, a new content update has also been released. This update adds various hairstyles for multiple characters, including a special first-anniversary hairstyle for Gustave, and addresses several issues, such as certain achievement text errors and a bug that prevented players from opening rest points during world dialogue. Additionally, a first-anniversary sale will run until May 1.
