Monaco 2 is set to receive a substantial free update on June 18, introducing new player options, levels and a competitive mode designed to enhance the heist experience. Pocketwatch Games has detailed the forthcoming content, which includes four additional levels featuring behind-the-scenes development elements, eight character skins inspired by the original Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine release, and a brand-new player-versus-player (PvP) mode.
The PvP mode challenges up to four players to be the first to accumulate 200 coins in a free-for-all environment. Players must navigate limited ammunition supplies and evade pursuers while racing to collect coins that spawn periodically across each arena. Eliminating an opponent enables thieves to confiscate a portion of the rival’s collected coins, adding a layer of strategy to the frantic chase. Three distinct PvP arenas each offer unique mechanics. In the Café Shootout, participants compete in a confined space where precise shots and efficient looting are essential. The Hotel level requires evasion of NPC civilians and enables teleportation tools for swift navigation. In the Graveyard, players face patrolling guards in dimly lit grounds, demanding stealth and speed.

Alongside the PvP content, the update delivers eight new character skins modeled after fan-favorite thieves from the original title. These skins provide visual variety without altering gameplay mechanics. Responding to community feedback, Pocketwatch Games has also implemented balance adjustments to later single-player stages, notably moderating the difficulty of the Prison level.
Since launching in April, Monaco 2 has received features such as Steam Cloud Saves, Steam Remote Play, and various quality-of-life improvements. Players will be able to access all new downloadable content free of charge beginning June 18. The game is available for Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. PlayStation users can take advantage of a 20 percent discount through June 11.

Pocketwatch Games, founded in 2005, rose to prominence with the original Monaco release, which won top honors at the Independent Games Festival. Their past titles include Wildlife Tycoon and Tooth and Tail. The studio continues to develop Monaco 2, following its April launch.
