After announcing his retirement from pro play, Mata is joining RNG as head coach

Just days after support player Cho "Mata" Se-hyeong announced his retirement from professional League of Legends play, he has found a new home. Mata is joining LPL's Royal Never Give Up, the team he played for during the 2016 season, though not as a player. The legendary competitor will be lending his wisdom to RNG as their head coach, the team first announced on their Weibo account.

The signing of Mata is paired with a couple of other announcements. Steak and Dandy, who took on the roles of head coach and coach for RNG this season, have been let go of. Joining Mata in a coaching role is LDL, who will serve as assistant coach to the organization. Two of RNG's academy players, jungler S1xu and mid laner Yuekai, have been promoted to the team's main roster. Lastly Tabe, a former support player for Invictus Gaming, will join the analyst team of the organization.
