Cloud9 to buyout Vulcan from Dignitas in exchange for $1.5 million and former TSM Academy ADC

In a report by ESPN, Cloud9 and Dignitas have verbally agreed in a trade deal that will send Vulcan to Cloud9 in exchange for $1.5 million and Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen, former TSM Academy bot laner. With Cloud9's former agreement to transfer four of their players, inluding Tristan "Zeyzal" Stidam, to Evil Geniuses, they were in the market for a Support.

Vulcan debuted in the LCS this Spring with Clutch Gaming who was bought out by Dignitas and went to Worlds 2019 with his team. The support was a major part of the team's successes, having a similar first split to C9 top laner, Eric "Licorice" Ritchie.

Johnsun was a TSM Academy bot laner who was scouted by TSM last year and played four games this summer behind starting TSMA bot, Edward "Tactical" Ra. As part of the deal, Cloud9 purchased Johnsun from TSM and is sending them to DIG along with the $1.5 million in exchange for Vulcan. This amounts to one of the largest buyouts in esports history.
