On the 7th (KST), the final round of the LCK Regional Qualifiers between DAMWON Gaming and Kingzone DragonX was held. After a grueling battle over 5 games on the Summoner’s Rift, DAMWON eventually took the victory over Kingzone with a set score of 3-2.
Fans from both teams went on an emotional rollercoaster ride after both teams traded heavy blows. In game 4, fans from both teams were crying out of relief and despair when DAMWON was extremely far ahead, but let Kingzone snatch the victory under their belt. However, as if nothing happened, DAMWON took game 5 in a very decisive manner.
With DAMWON’s victory over Kingzone tonight, they've also made history, as they are the first LCK team to promote into the LCK and head into Worlds in the same year. As a rookie team, they now join SK Telecom T1 and Griffin as LCK’s 3rd seed to show the world what they can do on the biggest stage of them all, the 2019 LoL World Championship.
