The first day of week 8 of the 2018 NA LCS Summer Split was held in the NA LCS Studio. Two teams have qualified for playoffs. Team Liquid and 100 Thieves have secured themselves a spot in the playoffs with three more games to be played. 100 Thieves came up on top against Echo Fox and placed themselves at second place.

100 Thieves played Echo Fox in Game 1. It was an important match since they were tied at second; 100 Thieves were able to take the win without much trouble in the first game of the 8.15 patch.

Cloud9 extended their winning streak to five with their win against Golden Guardians. Blaber played well on Kindred with a 5/2/10 record.

Both teams were desperate for a win on the next game; Counter Logic Gaming needed to stop their losing streak, and TSM had to get as many wins they can to reach the playoffs safely. Only one team could have smiled, and that team was TSM.

Reworked Akali first made her appearance as OpTic Gaming picked her as their first pick. However, Team Liquid countered Akali with Galio. Although PowerOfEvil was able to get first blood with Akali, that was the only kill OpTic Gaming was able to get throughout the game. With this win, Team Liquid secured a spot in the playoffs.

Again, Akali was the first pick for Clutch Gaming. However, she wasn’t able to do much in the game. FlyQuest took the victory and stayed near the top of the standings. Akali was picked or banned in all five matches, but lost both games she was picked in today.
