Seoul – July 10, 2018 – Global esports organization and industry leader Gen.G is among the first competitors to qualify two teams for a major international PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) invitational tournament.

PUBG teams Gen.G Gold and Gen.G Black finished the 2018 1H PUBG Korea League (PKL) tournament in first and second place with 12,080 and 8,820 points, respectively. The first and second place wins secured both Gen.G squads the right to represent South Korea at PUBG Corporation’s inaugural international tournament, playing for share of the massive $2 million prize pool.

The 2018 PUBG Global Invitational (PGI) is scheduled for July 25 through July 29 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, featuring 20 professional teams competing for the substantial prize money, including Team Liquid, Ghost Gaming, Na’Vi, Gen.G Gold, Gen.G Black and more.

"This is a great start for us. Both of our PUBG teams maintained a top ranking in the inaugural PUBG league and were ultimately able to punch our tickets to Berlin. We are so proud of both our teams for their hard work and perseverance. We look forward to the opportunity to compete against some of the world’s best teams at the PUBG Global Invitational.”

- Arnold Hur, Chief Growth Office, Gen.G.

Prior to the team’s PKL victory, Gen.G PUBG, formerly known as KSV No Title, dominated the AfreecaTV PUBG League Pilot Season 1 to clinch the inaugural championship following a stellar season.

"Gen.G is proud to have teams and players competing at the highest level in the top esports titles around the world, which is a testament to our organization’s commitment to developing our teams and players abilities to an elite level” said Hur.

While Gen.G PUBG teams Gold and Black will represent South Korea at PGI 2018, Gen.G League of Legends players Ruler and CoreJJ will represent South Korea in competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
