Jae Hui Kim, the lead producer of Black Desert Online (BDO), has delivered a message about directions of upcoming BDO updates at the time just before Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving Day.
The upgrade of main weapon skill will be done in order to use the main weapon skill even after the character is awakened, just like Rabam’s Enlightment that is being added to the Korean live server. It allows learning a higher-levelled skill, for example, Warrior’s Spinning Slash becoming “Awakening: Spinning Slash” at level 56. The upgrade on main weapon skill is available from level 56, and all of the main weapon skills become empowered much more at level 60. The final objective is to lead players to choose the main and awakening weapons depending on circumstances and tastes.
Along with this update, the devs are also considering to lower the required level of skills that can only be learnt at 61 and 62, to level 60. The update is expected to be finalized within this year, starting from Warrior. The updating order can be different from the existing Awakening order.
A number of classes will be buffed due to the difference of grinding between each class. They are Musa, Maewha, Kunoichi, Ninja, and Valkyrie. The balancing process will not be one or two hotfixes, but through continuous updates.
With continuous optimization patches, the second half of 2017 will be focused on preparing new content and maintaining internal stability.
Furthermore, the periodic test will return from fortnightly to weekly as of the official test on October 12th (Thu).
