Cozy Game Restoration, a retro game cleaning and collecting sim from Melbourne solo developer Parasol Corp, has passed 400,000 Steam wishlists ahead of its November 4th launch on Windows and Mac.
According to a release, the game will sell for $14.99 USD on Steam, with 19 languages supported at launch. Parasol Corp also built it with the Steam Deck in mind. Interest has grown all year. A May playtest drew 149,745 sign-ups; at June's Steam Next Fest, the demo ranked among the 24 most-played (with 171,679 downloads).
Wishlists let Steam users save a game they plan to buy, and the store alerts them when it launches or goes on sale. Studios watch the number closely. A high count is often read as an early sign of demand.
How Cozy Game Restoration plays
Players open mystery parcels holding old games in varying states of wear. Then the cleaning starts. Dust, grime, ink, stickers, scratches and adhesive residue all have to come off before a game joins the collection. Some even arrive with notes left by previous owners.
The collection spans six fictional platforms inspired by consoles from the 1980s to the early 2000s. There are 108 games, each in PAL and NTSC versions (216 in total), across five rarity levels. PAL and NTSC were the TV standards that split console releases by region: PAL covered most of Europe and Australia, NTSC North America and Japan.
Cozy Game Restoration has 300 quests at launch. Collection and cleaning challenges unlock decorations and furniture, so players can slowly turn their workspace into a shrine to retro gaming. The release says there are no timers or fail states.
Special cartridges are based on real indie games, including Abiotic Factor and CONSCRIPT; more partnerships are still to be revealed. Easter eggs are planned too. The release mentions a Grand Theft Auto-inspired game celebrating GTA 6, plus The Legend of Zelda-inspired cartridges marking the remake of Ocarina of Time.
Parasol Corp is the studio of Melbourne developer Adam Stormhardt, who made the game alone. It is self-published, with no publisher backing. The game was recently playable at PAX Aus 2026 (as part of the Aus Indie Showcase) and at the Games Week Showcase run by ACMI, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.
