Phantom Blade Zero will launch on October 28th at 7 PM PT, but players who want a boxed PlayStation 5 (PS5) copy will have to wait until 2027.
Developer S-GAME shared the dates in a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the game's official account, alongside a launch trailer that runs a little over three minutes. In Beijing, the game goes live on October 29th at 10 AM.
Pre-loading opens two days before launch, on October 26th at 7 PM PT (October 27th at 10 AM Beijing Time). That means players buying digitally can download the game ahead of time and start playing as soon as it unlocks.
PS5 physical edition arrives next year
The same post revealed the PS5 physical edition's new timing, which S-GAME tacked on at the end as "one more thing". The studio did not give a month or exact date for the boxed release, saying only that it "arrives in 2027".
S-GAME described the game as bringing "the speed and spectacle of kungfu cinema to life in an epic journey through the world of Kungfupunk", the name the studio uses for the game's setting. "Thank you for your patience and for supporting us every step of the way. See you in the Wulin!" the studio wrote. Wulin is the term for the martial arts world found in Chinese wuxia fiction.
The post did not say why the physical edition will come later than the digital launch, or whether other platforms will get a boxed release.
