On October 22, Nexon rolled out the second autumn update for MapleStory, featuring the four-chapter event "Maple Escape: The Missing Nemi". The update also introduces a user-created content contest, new boss difficulty levels, and expanded community features.
"Maple Escape: The Missing Nemi" runs until November 18. Players can participate through the NPC "Detective Pink Bean," with a new chapter story being unlocked each week over three weeks. In each chapter, players search for clues hidden across the map to solve different puzzles and complete missions. Rewards for completion include new cosmetic items such as 'Witch Hat Mount (Permanent) Coupon', 'Hallocat Damage Skin (Unit) Selection Coupon', 'Escaper Set Coupon', and 'Moonlit Halloween Maple Home Theme Coupon'. Completing all four chapters allows players to enter a raffle for single-person entry tickets to the offline escape room cafe "MapleStory Escape," with 200 winners selected in total.
Returning for the first time in five years since 2021, the "2nd Golden Hand Awards" accepts player-designed cosmetic item submissions. This contest expands to five categories by adding the "Sol Hecate Skin" category alongside hair, face, outfit set, and pet. A total of 36 winners across all categories will receive up to 3 million won in cash and 1.5 million Nexon Cash depending on the category. Winners will also receive a MapleStory class character desk mat, a Maple Hideout keyboard, and a custom-designed MY Mood Lamp featuring their winning design. Players with a main character of Level 260 or higher can submit entries on the official website until November 11. Entries passing internal screening will undergo a first round of player voting from November 30 to December 6.
For boss content, the top-tier "Extreme" difficulty has been introduced for "Limbo" and "Baldrix". Challengers can form parties of up to three players, requiring Level 285 or higher for Extreme Limbo and Level 290 or higher for Extreme Baldrix. Defeat rewards include "Exceptional Hammer (Pocket)" and "Exceptional Hammer (Pendant)," respectively, which are used for Exceptional Enhancement on pocket and pendant equipment. New attack patterns have been introduced for the new difficulty, and visual effects and readability for certain patterns have been improved across all difficulties for both bosses.
The hunting event "Detective Yeti's Suspicious Magnifying Glass" also runs until November 18. Booster items "Suspicious Magnifying Glass" and "Detective Yeti's Suspicious Magnifying Glass," earned by hunting monsters near your level, summon EXP-granting monsters for 100 seconds. The former summons "Suspicious Ghost," while the latter summons "Suspicious Detective Ghost," which yields even higher EXP. Completing the daily collection mission to defeat 10,000 near-level monsters grants one "Detective Yeti's Suspicious Magnifying Glass" once per day. During the event, Runes and Elite Monsters appearing in major towns such as Henesys and Cernium Square, as well as hunting fields, will take on a Halloween-themed appearance.
Updates have also been made to growth content and seasonal lore. The "Personal Burning" growth mission has been expanded from 30 to 45 stages. Meanwhile, the autumn event "Visitors of the Argo" adds backstory for Havoc, Lessah, Reina, and Baldrix, the Apostles of Zern Darmoor.
For community features, "Maple Talk" has been introduced, allowing players from different worlds to join group chats. Using the "World-Shared Cosmetic Slot," characters within the same world can share Master Label items. In addition, the "Maple Home" feature has been expanded, and auto-rerolling for Potentials and Abilities of Unique tier or lower is now supported.
The Premium PC Cafe login event runs from October 23 to November 19. Depending on daily cumulative playtime, rewards include "Exploration Coin Coupon," "VIP Booster," and "VIP Sauna Coupon." Additional cumulative playtime rewards include 1,000 "Advanced EXP Coupons," 30 "Karma Black Cubes," and 30 "Karma White Additional Cubes." Further details regarding the update can be found on the official MapleStory website.
