Netmarble has released a new update for MONGIL: STAR DIVE, its monster-taming action role-playing game (RPG) for mobile and PC. It adds Chloe, a new five-star Wind-element character, alongside a special story event and a run of limited-time events.
According to a release, the update went live on October 21st. More arrives a week later. On October 28th, the second week of the update brings a Halloween event (plus a new costume for a returning favorite).
Chloe is a Fighter. She attacks with punches and spinning kicks, in what the release calls a ‘relentless combat style’. In the story, she made her name as a martial artist before the fall of Nirvan; as her world was destroyed, she ‘never lost hope’ and saved countless lives, the release says.
Events in the update
Her arrival comes with The Road to a Broken Heart, a story event that runs for three weeks and digs into Chloe's past. Players can take on the event dungeon, clear missions or play the Intensive Training! minigame. All of it earns event currency. That currency can be swapped for rewards such as a live background or summon tickets.
Two more events, Special Missions with Chloe and Chloe's 7-Day Gifts, hand out summon tickets as well as a Mutant Monsterling Selection Chest. Summon tickets are spent in gacha games like this one to recruit characters at random. A second half-anniversary rerun recruitment also brings back Esther and Nagi, together with their unique Artifacts.
The Halloween-themed Nightmarch - Midnight Commotion event starts on October 28th. Esther gets her seasonal costume, “[Esther] Alluring Devil of the Night”, the same day.
What MONGIL: STAR DIVE is
The game is a reimagining of Monster Taming, Netmarble's 2013 mobile collectible RPG. It runs on Unreal Engine 5. Combat is real-time and built around a three-character tag system, where players swap party members mid-fight. Its Monsterling Collection system lets players capture monsters, then collect and synthesize them.
MONGIL: STAR DIVE launched worldwide on April 15th 2026. It is free-to-play on iOS and Android, with a PC version on the Epic Games Store and the Netmarble Launcher. Netmarble points players to the official MONGIL: STAR DIVE website and forum for more on the update.
Netmarble was founded in Korea in 2000. It is the parent company of Kabam, SpinX Games and Jam City; it is also a major shareholder in HYBE and NCSOFT. Its portfolio includes Solo Leveling:ARISE, Seven Knights Re:BIRTH, RAVEN2, MARVEL Future Fight and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
