The Pokémon Company International has announced a permanent Pokémon store in London, the first physical retail space for the brand outside Asia. The shop is currently scheduled to open by 2029.
The official Pokémon UK account announced the news on X (formerly Twitter), linking to a short post on the Pokémon website. According to the announcement, the store will carry a range of exclusive merchandise and offer "one-of-a-kind experiences for Trainers of all ages", Trainers being the name the company uses for its fans.
Gaku Susai, Chief Product and Experience Officer at The Pokémon Company International, said: "We are always exploring new opportunities that help us create unique and memorable experiences for our fans. This new London store will give visitors the chance to step into the world of Pokémon, whether they're discovering the brand for the first time or have been Trainers for years."
Susai added that the company hopes the shop "becomes a place where everyone can come together, feel like part of a community and enjoy the magic of Pokémon in a whole new way." No location within the city, size or exact opening date was given.
What's next for Pokémon stores outside Asia
London will not be the only one. The announcement said the store is the first of several permanent Pokémon stores planned to launch outside Asia, though it did not name any other cities or give a timeline for them.
Until now, the brand's permanent physical shops have all been based in Asia. The Pokémon Company said more information on the London store would follow in the future.
