KRAFTON's development studio Flyway Games will release the action-adventure game 'Waltz and Jam' on December 3. It will launch on the same day for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Nintendo Switch 2.
Flyway Games announced the release date alongside a new trailer at the online showcase 'The Triple-i Initiative' held in the early morning of the 9th (KST). The studio also confirmed the release of console versions during the event. A demo featuring approximately the first hour of gameplay was released on Steam.
The Triple-i Initiative is a showcase launched in 2024 by Evil Empire, developer of 'The Rogue Prince of Persia.' It runs for roughly 45 minutes without a host, presenting a continuous series of trailers. Major indie titles such as 'Slay the Spire 2' and 'Vampire Survivors' have previously shared updates on this stage. This event teased the reveal of over 35 games.

'Waltz and Jam' depicts the journey of Waltz, a ghost who awakens with no memories in the afterlife realm of 'Downtown.' Waltz must collect seven stamps to reach the 'Gate of Judgement.' Guided by the mysterious figure 'Low,' Waltz travels across seven worlds alongside the spirit puppy 'Jam.' Each world takes inspiration from the Seven Deadly Sins. Regions such as a bustling restaurant, a castle tangled in light and shadow, and a desert stretching endlessly like a sea each feature unique visual concepts, puzzles, enemies, and bosses. The graphics are crafted in a hand-drawn style.
Gameplay is centered on cooperation between the two characters. Jam can transform into a water droplet 'Water Ball' to cross gaps or a 'Trampoline' to open paths to higher ground. Waltz uses toys left behind by legendary craftsmen as tools to unlock new paths and engage enemies. Players explore interconnected regions, solve environmental puzzles, and progress while discovering hidden secrets and gaining new abilities. A boss fight awaits at the end of each region, structured around learning the boss's attack patterns and coordinating with Jam to defeat them.

The game features an adventure structure reminiscent of the classic 'The Legend of Zelda' series, combined with a companion character. Rather than concentrating abilities on a single protagonist, abilities are divided between the two characters.
Flyway Games was established in 2023 as a wholly owned studio funded by KRAFTON. It has pursued an approach of swiftly bringing new titles to market across various platforms and genres, then refining them based on player feedback. On July 13, the studio officially released 'Ascend to ZERO,' an action roguelike centered on time-stopping mechanics, on Steam and Xbox. Following 'Ascend to ZERO' launching on PC and Xbox (including Game Pass), 'Waltz and Jam' expands its platform reach to PS5 and Switch 2.
Pricing has not yet been revealed.
