Smilegate will officially release the roguelike action game Neon Abyss 2 on PC and consoles on October 8. The PC version will be available via STOVE and Steam.
The release date was announced alongside a new trailer during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct held during Tokyo Game Show 2026. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions will also launch on the same day.
Developed by Veewo Games, Neon Abyss 2 is set in the "Abyss," a pixel-art world where cyberpunk and mythology collide. Players embark on a quest for vengeance against the gods alongside their companion, "Hatchmon."
Since launching in Early Access in 2025, major updates incorporating player feedback—such as 'Fatal Carnival' and 'Glimmer Heist'—have been rolled out. Throughout this process, new bosses, weapons, affixes, agents, and play modes were added.
The official version introduces a new final boss, "Theia: God of Vanity." Theia is established as one of the primordial Titans and the mother of Helios, Selene, and Eos. She features a distorted form blending broken mirrors, sharp gemstones, and radiant neon auras.
The boss fight unfolds across three phases, with blinding flashes and shattering audio accompanying each attack. As the co-publishing partner in Korea, Smilegate plans to continue supporting launch marketing and Korean localization quality improvements.
