KT Head Coach Jihoon Lee promises that they will no longer lose with 10k gold lead

On August 1st (KST), KT Rolster defeated Longzhu Gaming to be the first team to have 14 wins in LCK Summer Split 2017 and get ahead in the race for the top. However, despite having a convincing lead in Game 1, the game went on to last more than 50 minutes with both teams at equal footing.

In the end though, Deft's overwhelming firepower ended the game to end in KT's favor, and it didn't take long for KT to take the second game to place KT in the lead in the LCK leaderboard.

KT's Head Coach Jihoon Lee was interviewed by OGN after the match, where he expressed happiness over how much they worked for today's win. "Coaching staffs analyzed a lot of matches for today, and players were willing to stay overnight to practice without complaining."

Although KT had a solid gold lead in the early game, the game went on to last more than 50 minutes. He said: "Our players began to make plays hastily, and we've lost too many matches like that. For this match, I could see how players began to change the strategy on their own as the game went on."

The match was decided by how well the DPS players, PawN and Deft have performed throughout the match. Coach Lee thought how their confidence really changed their performance for better compared to how they were since the Spring Split.

As he wrapped up the interview, he showed a slight regret over how they often lost against SKT in crucial matches. "Fans often talked about how SKT will win despite everything that happened." However, he was still going to do his best to win. "Many fans will feel like we'd lose even if with 10k gold lead. We'll do our best to not make them feel that way and show how we are improving."
