Com2uS has issued an official statement announcing that it will formally request an investigation by law enforcement authorities regarding a post made by an individual impersonating an employee.
On September 4, a post surfaced on an online community where a user claiming to be a Com2uS employee uploaded photos of the company cafeteria menu and what appeared to be the office interior. The post sparked controversy as it contained content mocking game players. Although the post was quickly deleted, screenshots spread rapidly across online communities. Subsequently, the controversy escalated as a series of posts emerged on the same forum urging users to report the incident to news media and broadcasting outlets.
In an official notice, Com2uS explained that in response to user inquiries regarding the post, it reviewed internal CCTV footage from the timeframe mentioned in the post. According to the company, the individual who took the photos was wearing a mask and carrying a bag, took photos from outside the cafeteria, and then left the scene. Com2uS stated that while visitors can access the area up to the cafeteria entrance, based on the system that verifies employee status during meal service as well as internal investigations and circumstances, the individual has been determined not to be a company employee.
Com2uS cited three main reasons for treating this matter as severe: an outsider entered employee-only spaces without authorization and took photos inside; posted those photos publicly to mislead the public into believing they were an employee; and further disparaged game players while spreading unfounded slander and false information about the company. The company added that it judged these actions go beyond simple expressions of opinion or criticism, damaging the reputation and social credibility of the company and its employees, and potentially negatively impacting normal business and game service operations.
Based on the facts and relevant materials verified so far, Com2uS stated that it plans to formally request an investigation by law enforcement authorities into the post author and related individuals for potential violations of relevant laws, including unlawful entry, defamation, and business interference. It added that once the perpetrator is identified and specific facts are confirmed through the investigation, it will take civil and criminal legal action, including criminal charges and claims for damages.
Com2uS asked for players' understanding for not issuing an immediate notice while determining the exact facts, and stated that it will continue to respond with zero tolerance toward actions that cause harm and confusion to players. 'Zeus: God of Pride' is an MMORPG developed by AButton and published by Com2uS, which officially launched on August 26.
