The 2026 IndieCraft Organizing Committee is providing comprehensive support for domestic indie games entering global markets by participating in Gamescom, the world's largest gaming exhibition held in Cologne, Germany, and operating a dedicated booth for the second consecutive year.
The 2026 IndieCraft Organizing Committee (co-chaired by Lee Ju-yeon, President of the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency, and Hwang Sung-ik, Chairman of the Korea Mobile Game Association) officially launched its campaign to target international markets by opening a promotional booth at Gamescom 2026, held in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to August 30. This marks the second consecutive year of support for the initiative following last year.
The promotional booth operating on-site is twice the size of last year's, moving beyond simple game demonstrations to focus on networking and business connections with global industry figures. Inside the booth, a hands-on demo area has been set up where visitors can play featured titles from developers selected for 2026 IndieCraft. Additionally, an English directory book containing details on the selected games is being provided digitally via QR codes within the booth starting this year, allowing global buyers and industry representatives to easily access information both on-site and online, facilitating discussions on investment and global publishing.
On Thursday, August 27, the second day of the event, a special program titled 'IndieCraft Networking Time' will take place. Industry representatives who visit the booth and play games on Wednesday, August 26—the start of Business Day—will receive free voucher tickets. Re-visiting the booth on August 27 with the voucher will entitle them to refreshments and free drinks, creating a comfortable environment for visitors to enjoy Korean indie games while fostering organic business networking.
Co-chairman Hwang Sung-ik stated, "Gamescom is a global business hub where game industry officials and players from all over the world gather." He added, "This year, in a booth twice as large, we will go beyond simple game demos to create a networking space that connects people, providing unsparing support so participating developers can create new opportunities in the global market."
Meanwhile, Gamescom 2026 kicks off with Opening Night Live on August 25 and runs from August 26 to August 30 at Koelnmesse. The event is set to be the largest in its history, with 100% of the exhibition space booked for the first time ever. The IndieCraft promotional booth is located in 'Hall 2.1 / Booth No. A 038' within the exhibition center.
