On August 20, T1 secured a 2-1 victory over kt Rolster in Round 4 of the Legend Group in the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) Regular Season, held at Chzzk LoL Park in Jongno. With this win reaching 17 wins, T1 kept their battle for second place—and a direct seed into Playoff Round 2—against Hanwha Life Esports alive.
Player of the Match (POM) honors went to 'Peyz' Kim Su-hwan. Although his early-game scaling on Yunara in Game 1 produced strong plays, it unfortunately did not lead to a victory. However, he became the primary architect of the match win by delivering deathless carry performances on non-marksman Taliyah in Game 2 and traditional marksman Caitlyn in Game 3.
Appearing in the post-match POM interview, Peyz summed up the match, saying, "I'm relieved that today's win snapped our losing streak and keeps us in the fierce battle for second place." He added, "We tried to resolve the issues that surfaced during our losses through feedback, and we're still continuously correcting them and improving. I think we'll be able to show even better performances going forward."
With every game proving to be a tough contest, Peyz's role as the late-game carry was crucial. Overcoming that pressure to lead the team to victory, Peyz admitted, "To be honest, I don't really remember the details of today's games," giving a sense of just how intense the match was.
In Game 2, T1 showcased a draft strategy by picking Vayne and flexing Rumble to mid lane and Taliyah to bot lane. Speaking about this, he explained, "When counter-picking against K'Sante, good options like Vayne exist. Taliyah is also decent against Kalista-Renata, so I thought flexing champions like that would give us an advantage in the draft."
When asked why he chose Stormrazor as his first core item on Caitlyn in Game 3, Peyz answered, "I had enough gold to buy a B.F. Sword on my first recall. So I bought B.F. Sword first, and after that, I thought Stormrazor was a high-value item, so I opted for it."
Finally, Peyz expressed his gratitude and determination, saying, "Thank you for cheering for us until late at night. I'm so happy we could repay you with a win, and I hope the fans are happy too." He added, "We'll make sure to win our next match against Hanwha Life Esports and finish the regular season in second place."
